Official: Azerbaijan-Armenia talks raise hopes for durable peace in South Caucasus
The ongoing negotiation process between Azerbaijan and Armenia is strengthening hopes for a lasting peace in the South Caucasus region, according to Aziz Alakbarli, chairman of the Western Azerbaijan Community.
Speaking to journalists, Alakbarli said that years of discussions between the two sides have increased confidence in the prospects for long-term stability in the region, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
He added that the peace process is also viewed as a potential opportunity for what he described as the return to historical Azerbaijani territories.
Alakbarli further noted that one of the main objectives of the organization he leads is to research the heritage of Western Azerbaijan and present historical findings to both domestic and international audiences.
He emphasised that the group seeks to promote awareness of historical narratives while contributing to broader public understanding of the region’s past and ongoing political developments.
