Official: Deliberate provocations aim to harm Azerbaijan-Türkiye ties
Some forces are engaging in deliberate provocations to harm relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, warned Farid Shafiyev, Chairman of the Center of Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center).
He made the remarks, during a roundtable discussion titled “Threats and Opportunities Created by New Geopolitical Realities for Turkish-Azerbaijani Relations,” Caliber.Az reports citing local media.
Shafiyev emphasised that despite these efforts, bilateral ties remain strong.
“However, everyone should know that there are no problems between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, and when problems arise, the states immediately resolve them effectively,” he said.
Shafiyev noted that while official mechanisms can counter such provocations, combating disinformation on social media platforms is more challenging and time-consuming.
"When such information is disseminated on social media, it takes some time to combat it,” he noted.
He pointed out the importance for the public to understand that “these narratives do not reflect the reality of Azerbaijani-Turkish relations.”
