Official: US welcomes strategic partnership charter with Azerbaijan

The United States has welcomed the signing of the Charter on Strategic Partnership with Azerbaijan, describing it as a significant step forward in bilateral relations.

Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Sonata Coulter told AZERTAC that, following what she referred to as a historic peace summit hosted by President Trump, Washington and Baku were now cooperating across a broad range of areas.

She said the two sides were preparing for an inaugural economic dialogue scheduled for next week, which she said would help intensify joint efforts considered important for both countries and their business communities.

She added that further positive outcomes were expected in the near future as cooperation deepened across multiple sectors.
