OIC Parliamentary Union’s 20th session underway in Baku
The 20th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the Member States of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is taking place in Baku.
Speakers and deputy speakers of parliaments from OIC member states, as well as representatives of international organisations, are expected to address the opening ceremony, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The session has brought together parliamentary delegations from more than 40 countries, speakers of parliament from over 10 states, and representatives of 10 international organisations.
The main theme of the discussions is “Promoting Sustainable and Inclusive Economic Development in OIC Member States through Parliamentary Cooperation.” More than 400 participants are expected to attend the event.
The session’s agenda includes meetings of the organisation’s General Committee and Executive Committee, the Association of Secretaries General of Parliaments, as well as committees on political affairs and international relations, economic affairs and the environment, legal and cultural issues, dialogue among civilisations and religions, human rights, and women and family affairs. Participants will review and discuss documents submitted for consideration.
The session will conclude on June 25.
