Ongoing AIIF-2025 global forum in Baku sees signing of multiple cooperation deals
Several agreements were signed in Azerbaijan as part of the ongoing 1st International Investment Forum (AIIF-2025).
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and Modon Chairman Jasem Mohammed Bu Ataba Al Zaabi signed a cooperation agreement to develop the “City within a City” concept, Caliber.Az reports.
Additionally, Chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Agency for Water Resources Zaur Mikayilov and ACWA Power CEO Marco Arcelli signed a public-private partnership agreement for the design, construction, financing, operation, and maintenance of a Caspian Sea desalination plant.
Furthermore, Mikayilov, together with Chairman of the Unified Water Supply Service for Major Cities, Tair Khalilov, and ACWA Power CEO Marco Arcelli, signed a purified water purchase agreement.
Minister of Economy Mikail Jabbarov, Chairman of the Economic Zones Development Agency Seymur Adigozalov, and ACWA Power CEO Marco Arcelli also signed a land lease agreement.
In addition, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Finance, Sahil Babayev and ACWA Power CEO Marco Arcelli signed a state guarantee agreement.
In connection with the event, Minister Jabbarov shared a post on X, which reads: "We participated in the opening ceremony of the 1st Azerbaijan International Investment Forum, held in Baku under the patronage of President Ilham Aliyev, organized by the Ministry of Economy and the Export and Investment Promotion Agency – AZPROMO, with the strategic partnership of "The European House – Ambrosetti" think tank."
"Dedicated to the theme "Advancing East-West, North-South connectivity in a fragmented global economy", the forum showcases our country’s transparent and sustainable economy, favorable business climate, strategic development priorities, extensive #investment opportunities, and significant transport-logistics advantages. The event serves as an important platform for attracting new investments to Azerbaijan, recognized as a reliable partner in international cooperation," Jabbarov added.
