Organisation of Turkic States issues statement on Victory Day
Secretary General of the Organisation of the Turkic States Baghdad Amreyev has made a statement in connection with November 8 - Victory Day.
"I have the honour to convey sincere congratulations and best wishes to the fraternal Azerbaijani people, the armed forces and the government on the occasion of November 8 - Victory Day, timed to the liberation of Shusha city and the restoration of the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan", Caliber.Az reports citing the statement.
According to the statement, the history written by the victorious Azerbaijani army under President Aliyev’s leadership is a solid foundation for Azerbaijan’s further development and prosperity, an important factor in ensuring peace and security in the region.
It further reads, that "the Turkic world has always been in solidarity with the Azerbaijani people and supported the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Azerbaijan".
The victory in the 44-day second Karabakh war became a source of pride for both the Azerbaijani and Turkic peoples, Amreyev noted, and also gave an impetus to the solidarity of the member states of the Organisation of the Turkic States and the fraternal Turkic peoples.
"On the anniversary of this victory, together with all my colleagues, we revere the memory of the martyrs who died for their Motherland, and convey our sincere congratulations to the fraternal Azerbaijani people", the statement said.
