Baku criticizes EU mission's "unilateral" actions near Azerbaijani border VIDEO
The European Union (EU) mission in Armenia, stationed near the conditional border with Azerbaijan, continues its adventurous actions following the extension of its mandate until 2027.
Footage reveals EU mission members observing Azerbaijani territory through binoculars, engaging in discussions as they approach the border, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The Azerbaijani side is closely monitoring the activities of the EU mission.
It is worth noting that Azerbaijan has repeatedly expressed dissatisfaction with this situation, emphasizing that the EU mission is operating without coordination with Baku.
To recall, European Union ambassadors in Brussels have approved the extension of the EU Mission in Armenia (EUMA) for an additional two years, ensuring the continued presence of European observers along Armenia’s border regions until February 19, 2027.
Armenian media sources report that the mission’s mandate will remain unchanged from its original two-year term. The team will consist of 165 foreign nationals and 44 Armenian personnel, with no changes to the composition or number of observers.
This decision is expected to receive formal approval from the EU member states' foreign ministers shortly, although it is considered a mere formality following the ambassadors' approval on January 29.
