Trump shares article featuring President Aliyev’s praise for US peace efforts

US President Donald Trump has shared a Breitbart News article on his Truth Social platform covering remarks by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum.

The article cites Aliyev describing Trump as “a man of peace” and praising his role in helping facilitate a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Caliber.Az reports.

In his remarks cited by Breitbart, Azerbaijan’s president said the Trump administration pursued a different approach from previous US administrations, seeking to resolve the conflict rather than preserve the status quo. 

He stated that Trump and his team understood Azerbaijan’s concerns and worked to convince Armenia that peace served the interests of both countries. Aliyev added that these efforts created the framework that allowed the two sides to reach the final stage of negotiations on the peace agreement.

The Breitbart article also notes that the Azerbaijani leader praised the Trump administration for following through on the commitments made after the White House-hosted peace summit, saying US officials had fulfilled their promises. He further stressed that the successful implementation of the agreement paved the way for a Strategic Partnership Declaration between Washington and Baku, which he described as elevating bilateral relations to an "unprecedented" level.

Aliyev also expressed gratitude to Trump and members of his team, including Steve Witkoff and Aryeh Lightstone, for their contribution to the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
