Azerbaijan’s FM outlines vision for regional cooperation at BSEC meeting
Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Secretary General of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) Lazar Comanescu have met to discuss the country’s future role as the chair of BSEC for the first half of 2025.
The two officials explored avenues for deepening regional cooperation in sectors like energy, trade, and transport, while emphasizing the need for enhanced collaboration on climate change initiatives, Caliber.Az reports per Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
Bayramov also outlined Azerbaijan’s ongoing regional projects aimed at connecting the Caspian, Black, and Mediterranean Seas, as well as expanding the green energy corridor.
The two sides also exchanged views on key regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Minister Bayramov emphasized the importance of BSEC as a key platform for advancing regional cooperation and reiterated Azerbaijan’s commitment to strengthening these ties.
Both officials also discussed the potential for deeper collaboration in the energy sector, while underscoring the need for increased cooperation between Azerbaijan and BSEC in addressing climate-related challenges. The meeting marked a step forward in bolstering Azerbaijan's engagement with BSEC and its vision for regional cooperation in the coming years.
