OSCE has no serious objections to electoral process in Azerbaijan CEC chairman says
Chairman of Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission Mazahir Panahov has said that the OSCE has no serious objections to electoral process in Azerbaijan.
“We have repeatedly said that all international organizations should observe the elections in the liberated territories. OSCE representatives have already been there. But we would like representatives of international organizations to be in the liberated territories on the day of voting. Currently, representatives of Ukraine and Maldives are in the liberated territories,” Panahov told a press conference, Caliber.Az reports.
On the number of voters in Azerbaijan, the chairman of the election commission noted that there are 6,478,623 voters, while the polling stations in the country are over 6 thousand.
"Necessary conditions for voters have been created at all polling stations. The key point of the electoral process is transparency. Therefore, the number of local observers registered are 89,366. A total of 90,372 observers have been registered, of which 790 are international observers. The election will be covered by 216 representatives of 109 international media organizations," the CEC chair noted.
Meanwhile, the Press Council has established hotline numbers: (012) 441 35 96, (050) 242 09 91 and (055) 789 85 03
By calling the hotline, journalists will be able to report incidents or problems they encountered while covering the voting process.
