OTS chief hails Shusha's significance for Turkic World
Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), has underscored the critical role of Shusha in symbolizing Azerbaijan's restored territorial integrity and sovereignty.
In an article published by Anadolu Agency to mark the OTS' 15th anniversary, he articulated Shusha's importance for the Turkic world, Caliber.Az reports.
Omuraliev noted that the Karabakh Declaration, adopted in Shusha, aims to enhance collaboration among Turkic states in key areas such as transportation, energy, and climate change. This declaration represents a pivotal step towards fostering unity and cooperation among member nations, showcasing a shared commitment to regional development and mutual support.
In line with these goals, Baku is preparing to host the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in November. The conference will feature discussions centered on the climate change challenges faced by mountainous regions, reinforcing the importance of cooperation emphasized in the Karabakh Declaration.
Omuraliev highlighted that COP29 will focus on critical issues such as climate change resilience and sustainable development within these vulnerable areas. The dialogue will serve as a vital platform for member states to exchange insights and strategies, strengthening collaborative efforts to address the pressing impacts of climate change on mountainous ecosystems.
