OTS leaders reaffirm support for Azerbaijan's post-conflict reconstruction efforts
Heads of states and governments participating in the 9th summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) have reaffirmed their readiness to contribute to Azerbaijan's post-conflict rehabilitation, reconstruction and reintegration efforts.
According to Report, this was stated in the Samarkand Declaration signed after the 9th summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Uzbekistan.
The sides agreed to continue regular consultations on security issues between member governments and state institutions within the Organization of Turkic States to ensure close coordination and cooperation on security issues and called for closer cooperation in the defence industry and military sphere.
The heads of state and government also expressed interest in the soonest opening of the Zangazur corridor, increasing the capacity of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line, expanding transport links between Europe and Asia, and the construction of the Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan-China and Termez-Mazar-e-Sharif-Kabul-Peshawar railway lines, which would contribute to the diversification of transport links.
The declaration of Shamakhi city as the tourist capital of the Turkic world for 2023 was highly appreciated.
It should be noted that the 9th summit of the Turkic world was held in Samarkand (Uzbekistan) on November 11. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev attended the event.
