Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, held a high-level meeting in Baku with delegations from member and observer states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), including the organization’s Deputy Secretary-General, Omer Kocaman.

The meeting was convened on the sidelines of the 11th Meeting of the Official Foreign Policy Research Centers of the Organization of Turkic States, Caliber.Az reports, citing an official X account of OTS.

In his remarks, Hajiyev underscored the critical importance of strengthening intra-regional partnerships, reaffirming Azerbaijan’s commitment to advancing the collective interests of the Turkic world. He emphasized Baku’s increasing role in the organization and noted that Azerbaijan will assume the rotating chairmanship of the OTS following the 12th Summit, which is slated to take place in Gabala on October 6–7, 2025.

“We are entering a pivotal period for the Turkic states,” Hajiyev said. “Azerbaijan stands ready to contribute substantively to the consolidation of our shared strategic vision.”

Omer Kocaman, for his part, extended his gratitude to Azerbaijan for its valuable contribution and unwavering support to the work of the organization. He expressed confidence that the forthcoming summit in Gabala would serve as a major milestone in further institutionalizing cooperation and strengthening the unity and resilience of the Turkic states.
