OTS secretary general condemns attack on Azerbaijani embassy in Iran
The Secretary General of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) Kubanychbek Omuraliyev has strongly condemned the armed attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Iran.
In his statement, Omuraliyev called on the Iranian authorities to thoroughly investigate the attack and bring the perpetrators to justice, according to Report.
"We offer our deepest condolences to the family of the officer who lost his life today, and we wish a speedy recovery to the injured," the statement reads.
An armed attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in the Islamic Republic of Iran was committed on January 27 at about 8:30 (GMT+4).
The attacker broke through to the security post and killed the head of the security service by using a Kalashnikov assault rifle.
Two embassy security guards were injured while repulsing the attack.
Their condition is satisfactory.
An urgent investigation is under way by the Azerbaijani side.
