Over 430 Azerbaijanis killed in Armenia's ceasefire violations from 1994 to 2020
Around 918 criminal cases have been initiated on the facts of Armenian crimes committed against Azerbaijanis since May 12, 1994, when the ceasefire was announced following the First Karabakh War.
Ilgar Safarov, a Senior Assistant to Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General for Special Assignments, Junior Counselor of Justice, made the remarks at a joint briefing on October 6, Caliber.Az reports.
The briefing was arranged by the country’s General Prosecutor's Office and Foreign Ministry to report on the crimes committed by Armenian servicemen and representatives of illegal Armenian armed groups against Azerbaijan from 1988 to the present day.
So far, as a result of the violation of the ceasefire regime by the Armenian side, 400 Azerbaijani servicemen and 31 civilians were killed.
In addition, the Armenians attempted mass murder against a total of 1,042 Azerbaijani servicemen and 69 civilians. The 305 defendants in the aforementioned criminal cases were ordered to be investigated and arrested in absentia.
