Pakistani Embassy in Azerbaijan marks Independence Day as envoy hails brighter future PHOTO

Pakistan's Ambassador to Azerbaijan Qasim Mohiuddin has said his country is committed to strengthening national unity, developing its economy and contributing to regional and global stability.

Speaking at an event in Baku marking Pakistan's 79th Independence Day, Mohiuddin highlighted the historical significance of independence and reaffirmed Islamabad's commitment to peace, dialogue and international cooperation, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

“Pakistan has always stood for peace, dialogue and cooperation among nations,” the ambassador said, adding that the country intended to continue strengthening its institutions and developing its national potential.

Mohiuddin also pointed to expanding Pakistan's diplomatic, economic and defence ties with other countries, saying Islamabad sought to contribute to peace and stability in the region and beyond.

Referring to a recent defence agreement involving Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, the ambassador said Pakistan was playing an important role in regional security and efforts to resolve conflicts peacefully.

He also highlighted the government's efforts to stabilise the country's economy.

“Our economy has already stabilised, and we are now moving forward. Pakistan has a very bright future,” Mohiuddin said.

The event, organised by the Pakistani Embassy in Azerbaijan, was attended by diplomatic mission staff, members of the Pakistani community and other guests.

The ceremony began with the raising of the Pakistani national flag, followed by the reading of Independence Day messages from President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
