Panama to study Azerbaijan’s experience in sustainable housing, minister says
Panama aims to study Azerbaijan’s experience in housing construction and urban development, Jaime Jovane Castillo, the country’s housing minister, has stated.
The minister said it was one of the main purposes of Panama’s participation in the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
“We came to gain extensive knowledge that other countries here possess, thanks to their development and active participation in various urban transformations. This is experience we want to study in order to later apply it in our countries,” he noted.
Castillo acknowledged that, regardless of where one is — on which continent or in which ocean or sea, the Atlantic, Pacific or Indian — the problems are the same. He said the need for solutions in sustainable housing is key.
“It is important to understand how we can achieve this, and how Azerbaijan has managed to ensure that housing is not just a construction object, but becomes a home — with opportunities, with a sense of belonging, with the formation of communities that strengthen countries,” he added.
