Parliament greenlights Azerbaijan’s accession to Metre Convention

Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis (parliament) has ratified a draft law on the country’s accession to the Metre Convention.

The document was discussed at today’s (June 30) extraordinary parliamentary session. Following deliberations, it was put to a vote and adopted in the first reading, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

The Metre Convention is a historic international agreement that established a unified system of measurements at the global level and laid the foundations for worldwide standardisation. It was signed on May 20, 1875, in Paris by representatives of 17 states.
