Parliament speaker: Shusha Declaration boosts expansion of Azerbaijan-Türkiye ties PHOTO
Speaker of the Azerbaijani parliament Sahiba Gafarova has said that the signing of the Shusha Declaration has provided a significant boost to the expansion of relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye.
She made these remarks during a meeting with a delegation led by President of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Turkey's Grand National Assembly Fuad Oktay, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan to participate in the international parliamentary conference on "Parliamentarism: Traditions and Perspectives", Caliber.Az reports.
While speaking about the importance of the upcoming conference, Gafarova highlighted that the event is dedicated to discussing the role of parliaments in the political life of both countries and the strengthening of mutual cooperation.
She expressed satisfaction with the successful collaboration between the two friendly and fraternal nations across all sectors.
According to the message, Azerbaijan and Türkiye, as brotherly countries, have laid a strong foundation for regional cooperation. The unity of the two countries was highlighted as a key factor for stability and security in the region.
In turn, Oktay expressed gratitude for the invitation to the event and the warm hospitality. He emphasised that the Cooperation Agreement signed last year between the Azerbaijani parliament and Türkiye's Grand National Assembly plays an important role in further expanding bilateral relations. During the meeting, the sides exchanged the views on a number of other issues of mutual interest.
