Pashinyan: Armenia–China strategic partnership to deepen after election
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has expressed confidence that Armenia’s relationship with China will continue to deepen following the country’s parliamentary elections.
Speaking at a press briefing after voting in the National Assembly elections on June 7, Pashinyan said the outcome of the vote would not negatively affect bilateral ties with Beijing, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.
He referred to last year’s agreement with Chinese President Xi Jinping, under which the two countries established a strategic partnership.
“Last year, President Xi Jinping and I signed a document on strategic partnership. That is a fact. I am confident that this fact will not change for the worse as a result of the elections,” Pashinyan said.
He added that cooperation between Armenia and China is expected to expand further, particularly in the context of Armenia’s “Crossroads of the World” initiative, which he said could create new opportunities for economic and infrastructure collaboration.
Pashinyan stressed that both sides have a mutual interest in strengthening ties, expressing confidence that the strategic partnership will continue to develop in the coming period.
