Patriotic War martyrs commemorated in Tashkent PHOTO
The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Uzbekistan, alongside the Azerbaijan Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev, hosted a solemn ceremony in Tashkent to commemorate the martyrs of the Patriotic War on September 27, the Remembrance Day.
Ambassador Huseyn Guliyev, along with embassy staff and Cultural Center employees, laid flowers at the Martyrs’ Garden, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
The wreaths then were placed at the monument of national leader Heydar Aliyev, located in front of the Cultural Center.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Guliyev expressed profound respect and pride for the memory of those who sacrificed their lives in the struggle for Azerbaijan's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
He highlighted the heroism and valor demonstrated by Azerbaijani forces under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, particularly in the liberation of East Zangazur and Karabakh from occupation, noting that their actions have secured a lasting place in the annals of the nation's history.
Colonel Samir Afandiyev, Head of the Military Attaché Office of Azerbaijan in Uzbekistan, also spoke about the bravery of Azerbaijani soldiers and officers during the 44-day Patriotic War. He emphasized that September 27 will be etched in the collective memory of the Azerbaijani people as the day that marked the beginning of their journey to victory.
