Peru highlights Azerbaijan as strategic gateway to new cooperation

Peruvian newspaper La Razón has highlighted the growing prospects for cooperation between Peru and Azerbaijan in an article marking the 205th anniversary of Peru’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The publication focused on remarks by Peruvian Foreign Minister Carlos Espá outlining the country’s key foreign policy priorities, while placing particular emphasis on the development of bilateral relations with Azerbaijan, AZERTAC reports.

The article described Peru’s decision to reopen its embassy in Baku as a significant step toward strengthening ties, noting Azerbaijan’s strategic location in the South Caucasus and its role as an important energy and trade hub.

It also highlighted recent statements from Azerbaijan regarding potential investments in Peru, saying these developments could create significant opportunities for expanding bilateral economic cooperation.

According to La Razón, closer diplomatic engagement between Lima and Baku could open new avenues for cooperation across the political, economic, trade and investment spheres.

The newspaper further characterized the reopening of Peru’s embassy in Baku as an important move toward deepening bilateral relations and strengthening the institutional foundation for future cooperation between the two countries.
