Pezeshkian praises Azerbaijan’s support for Iran during war Report by Haber Global
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has highlighted Azerbaijan’s support for Iran during the war, including assistance provided in several areas.
The remarks were made during an interview with journalists and featured in a report by Haber Global.
Pezeshkian said Azerbaijan had provided significant assistance to Iran during the conflict. He noted that, at one point, an Iranian bank and roads were closed, but following negotiations, the roads, bank and Iranian embassy were reopened.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev subsequently thanked Pezeshkian for his comments, saying recent developments in the region had once again demonstrated Azerbaijan’s support for the Iranian people.
“Against the backdrop of the recent events in our region, it has once again been demonstrated that Azerbaijan stands by the brotherly Iranian people,” Aliyev said.
Azerbaijan has also provided humanitarian assistance to Iran this year. On March 10, Baku sent around 30 tons of aid to Iran. A further 82 tons of food, medicines and medical supplies were delivered on March 18, followed by another humanitarian shipment on April 4.
