PM: Azerbaijan’s support symbolises deep brotherhood
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has extended his heartfelt thanks to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan for their steadfast support and solidarity with Pakistan.
The statement was made during a meeting with Azerbaijani Ambassador Khazar Farhadov in Islamabad, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Sharif praised Azerbaijan’s unwavering stance as a symbol of the deep-rooted friendship and brotherhood shared by the two nations.
Highlighting the growing strength of bilateral ties, the prime minister expressed satisfaction with the positive trajectory of cooperation between Pakistan and Azerbaijan. He credited President Aliyev’s historic visit to Pakistan in July of last year as a turning point that significantly advanced collaboration in trade, economic development, and investment.
Sharif also recalled his own official visit to Baku in February, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing its relationship with Azerbaijan through mutually beneficial economic partnerships. Underscoring Pakistan’s foreign policy stance, the prime minister reiterated the country’s firm resolve to safeguard sovereignty and territorial integrity in the face of any aggression.
In response, Ambassador Farhadov assured continued Azerbaijani support, noting that the two countries remain united by shared values and brotherly ties. He emphasised that President Aliyev places great importance on relations with Pakistan, which have seen dynamic growth in recent years.
