PM: Denmark has no restrictions on Ukrainian use of F-16s
Denmark's Prime Minister, Mette Frederiksen, has stated that Denmark does not place any limitations on how Ukraine can use the F-16 fighter jets it has provided.
During her remarks at the GLOBSEC conference in Prague, Frederiksen expressed regret over the delay in delivering the aircraft, Caliber.Az reports citing Ukrainian media.
“I regret that the F-16 deliveries were delayed. I personally wanted to deliver them to Ukraine at the start of the war. However, there was prolonged debate about whether it was the right decision,” she said.
While Frederiksen did not specify who was responsible for the delay, she emphasized the importance of Ukraine receiving all necessary Western weapons. “Victory is unattainable without the proper weapons. The only way to achieve victory is to supply the Ukrainians with what they need,” she asserted.
Frederiksen also clarified that Denmark imposes no restrictions on the usage of the F-16s beyond ensuring compliance with international law. “We do not impose restrictions on the use of the F-16s, as long as it adheres to international law. There are no additional restrictions,” she added.
In line with this, Czech President Miloš Zeman has supported the use of F-16s for strikes on Russian targets, and the Netherlands, which also provided F-16s, shares a similar view on their use.
