PM Sharif welcomes President Aliyev to visit Pakistan in April for key agreements PHOTO
Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, currently on an official visit to Azerbaijan, extended his heartfelt gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for the warm reception and hospitality offered to him and his delegation during their time in Baku.
Sharif took to social media to share the details of his visit, highlighting the fruitful discussions that took place between the two leaders, per Caliber.Az.
The Prime Minister described his meeting with President Aliyev as highly productive, emphasizing the brotherly atmosphere in which the talks were conducted. The discussions centred on expanding and deepening the bilateral ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, focusing on key areas such as trade, energy, defence, and regional connectivity. Sharif stressed the importance of cooperation in these sectors for both nations’ growth and prosperity.
One of the significant outcomes of the meeting was the progress made on finalizing a portfolio of Azerbaijani investments worth $2 billion in various mutually beneficial projects across Pakistan. These investments are expected to play a pivotal role in strengthening economic relations between the two countries. Prime Minister Sharif expressed his excitement over the upcoming visit of President Aliyev to Pakistan, scheduled for April this year, where the two leaders are expected to sign historic agreements that will further solidify the partnership between the two nations.
In his message, Sharif also reiterated the shared commitment of both Pakistan and Azerbaijan to deepen their strategic cooperation, recognizing that a stronger partnership between the two countries not only serves their mutual interests but also contributes to regional stability, peace, and prosperity.
