Poland allocates $100 million for US weapons for Ukraine
Warsaw plans an urgent purchase of American armaments for Kyiv under the Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) programme.
The Polish foreign minister, Radosław Sikorski, announced the funding will reach $100 million by end-2025, Caliber.Az reports, citing European Pravda.
The money is already included in the Foreign Ministry’s budget, Sikorski stated ahead of the EU Foreign Affairs Council on 20 November.
PURL was launched in July 2025 by US President Donald Trump and NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte, enabling Alliance members to acquire American weapons for Ukraine.
Spain, Germany, along with Nordic and Baltic states, have already joined the initiative, securing hundreds of millions of dollars in financing.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez announced on November 18, plans to approve the allocation of €100 million within a month under the PURL instrument for NATO states to buy US weapons for Ukraine.
Germany will also make an additional contribution of €150 million to the PURL initiative, which is used to purchase American weapons for Ukraine.
Earlier, Northern European and Baltic NATO countries agreed to finance a $500 million package under PURL.
