A total of 41 settlements have been either built or restored in Azerbaijan’s territories liberated from occupation, allowing former internally displaced persons to return, Head of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan and Chairman of the Organising Committee, Samir Nuriyev, said.
Chairing a meeting of the Coordination Headquarters for the centralised management of issues in the territories of Azerbaijan liberated from occupation in Khojavand, Nuriyev noted that over 80,000 people now live and work in these areas, including public and private sector employees and students, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
He emphasised that large-scale reconstruction and construction efforts will continue in the coming period, accelerating resettlement and expanding the scope of the “Great Return” program.
Nuriyev stressed the importance of creating new jobs, expanding opportunities in agriculture, services, manufacturing, construction, and logistics, promoting entrepreneurship, and attracting investors to develop the liberated lands.
He added that restoring historical, cultural, and religious monuments remains a key priority of the “Great Return” program.
