President Erdogan: We caused Türkiye to be regarded differently by breaking stereotypes

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has drawn attention to the achievements of recent decades, including those in the defence complex, transport and infrastructure.

“Modern Türkiye produces domestic aircraft and cars. The flagship of the Turkish Navy, the TCG Anadolu landing ship, has been recently put into operation, on board of which the Turkish unmanned vehicles Kizilelma and Bayraktar TB-3 are deployed again. All this was achieved by breaking the stereotypes, forcing to perceive Türkiye differently. The main revolution that we managed to make has happened in the minds of people,” he said, according to Anadolu.

“The strategic initiative of creating the Organisation of Turkic States was implemented thanks to Ankara’s initiatives. We seek to increase solidarity in the Islamic world without asking permission from other countries. Our dialogue with the Western world is based on a firm determination to uphold the rights and interests of our country. We will continue pursuing our course towards Türkiye’s economic well-being by increasing investments, production, exports, creating more jobs and reducing the foreign trade deficit,” the president said.

The Turkish president noted that six million new jobs will be created in Türkiye in the next five years, and the unemployment rate will decrease to seven per cent thanks to the GDP growth rate.

“We plan to maintain the economic growth rate at 5.5 per cent per annum in the coming years, which will make it possible to bring Türkiye's GDP first to $1.5 trillion, and in the future to $2 trillion. GDP per capita in Türkiye will reach $16,000, and this is not the limit,” the president said.
