President Vučić: Serbia and Azerbaijan share many common values UPDATED

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić has said that Serbia and Azerbaijan are united by shared principles and expanding cooperation across key regional and global issues.

Speaking during a joint press statement with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the Serbian leader emphasised the strong foundation underpinning bilateral relations, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

“The establishment of such relations demonstrates that your country and our country share many common values,”  President Vučić said.

Aleksandar Vučić noted that today they had an exchange of views with President Ilham Aliyev on very important issues, including matters related to Europe and the entire world.

Highlighting people-to-people ties, the Serbian President invited Azerbaijani citizens to visit his country, underscoring the level of stability and safety in Serbia.

“I would like Azerbaijanis to visit Serbia frequently. Comfort, peace, and complete security are fully ensured,” said President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić during his press statement with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

“Security in both countries is at the highest level, and our direct contacts with the Azerbaijani people are also very important,” the Serbian President added.

Touching upon economic cooperation, President Vučić said the two sides had explored concrete opportunities to expand trade, particularly in agriculture.

“We discussed issues of economic cooperation, including the agricultural sector, and there are many opportunities for exchanges in this field. I believe the agricultural products exported from Azerbaijan’s Zira district are very delicious,” Vučić said.

He emphasized that products are being exported from Azerbaijan to Serbia at special discounted prices, stating: “Compared to other exported products, this is a much more favorable price. Therefore, we believe that government officials who have not yet engaged in this area should pay attention. They should establish cooperation in this field and be prepared to purchase products offered by our Azerbaijani friends.”

“Of course, we also have many products to offer to Azerbaijan,” President Vučić added.
