Professor: France not to send soldiers to die for Armenia
Doctor of Political Science at the US Stanford University Arthur Khachikian has said that France will not send soldiers to die for Armenia.
“Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev understands that Armenia is in a difficult situation now, in particular as a result of its own diplomatic mistakes. He demands to open a corridor and enclaves and says that the border must be determined according to the current situation, rather than according to the maps of the 1970s. Of course, he is in a fairly strong position; Russia and Europe depend on him,” Khachikian said in an interview with the Armenian media, Caliber.Az reports.
“As for our region, we see that the regional situation is hard, and in case of clashes, our chances of finding an ally are limited. As for our Western dreams, I would like to say that I talked to quite senior people from the French analytical group in France yesterday. They quite openly said that they love Armenia very much, they have good relations with Armenia, but they cannot send their soldiers to die for Armenia, they will be unable to explain this to the French people. Moreover, they said that Europe is afraid of Türkiye, Europe will not confront Türkiye, especially in the Caucasus, where there is also a danger from Russia for Europeans. The French made such a statement,” he said.
“That is, to find a solution, at a minimum, it is necessary to think carefully. How can we think? There are dozens of agents of foreign forces in the Armenian society, who are provided with money by foreign forces to tell us something false. These agents describe a Western alternative, but when you talk to the Western people, that is, to people working in the West, they say that they heard this for the first time. That’s we are being deceived,” Khachikian added.
