Remembering Ganja’s ordeal: Five years since Armenia’s missile barrage
Five years have passed since the third missile strike launched by Armenian armed forces on Azerbaijan’s second-largest city, Ganja, during the Second Karabakh War.
As Caliber.Az reminds, on the night of October 8, 2020, Ganja came under rocket fire that damaged several residential buildings and vehicles. Fortunately, no civilian casualties were reported during this particular attack.
Throughout the course of the Second Karabakh War, Ganja endured five separate missile and artillery strikes by Armenian forces on October 4, 5, 8, 11, and 17, 2020. The repeated bombardments claimed the lives of 26 civilians, left 175 others injured, and inflicted extensive damage on homes, infrastructure, and vehicles across the city.
The anniversary serves as a solemn reminder of the heavy toll exacted on Azerbaijani civilians during the conflict.
