Revolutionizing defence: Azerbaijan introduces "Fireforce" laser weapon VIDEO
Azerbaijan has developed its first domestically produced laser weapon, Fireforce, showcased during the 5th Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition (ADEX 2024), held in Baku from September 24-26.
Manufactured by Azersilah Holding, under the Ministry of Defence Industry, the Fireforce is entirely designed and built by Azerbaijani engineers, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.
Weighing 900 kilograms, the weapon boasts a power output of 30 kilowatts and is capable of neutralizing land, air, and sea targets within a one-kilometre range.
Fireforce's developer, Valeh Arifzadeh said that the project was completed in just two months. He highlighted its compact design, enabling it to be mounted on light armoured vehicles, and emphasized its resistance to moisture, dust, and vapour, which typically affect laser systems.
Arifzadeh added that although the current range is one kilometre, there are plans to extend it to ten kilometres. "This weapon is fully homegrown, with all components and the patent belonging to Azerbaijan," he stated.
