Romanian Senate delegation briefed on Azerbaijan’s electoral preparations
Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of Azerbaijan's Central Election Commission (CEC), has met with Cristian-Augustin Niculescu-Țâgârlaș, head of the Romanian Senate’s observation mission, to discuss preparations for the upcoming snap parliamentary elections in the country.
Panahov provided the delegation with a comprehensive update on the election process, highlighting that all necessary conditions have been established to ensure a smooth and effective election. He noted that 990 candidates are vying for 125 parliamentary seats, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
The CEC Chairman emphasized that the preparations adhere strictly to Azerbaijani legislation. Special measures are being implemented to ensure accessibility for voters with disabilities on election day. Additionally, to promote transparency, 1,000 webcams have been installed at polling stations across the constituencies.
Cristian-Augustin Niculescu-Țâgârlaș expressed optimism that the snap parliamentary elections will be conducted at a high standard and in full compliance with international norms, thereby further advancing Azerbaijan’s development.
