Rome screens video honouring Azerbaijan’s Victory Day on fifth anniversary PHOTO
Screens at metro stations and bus stops across Rome are currently showing a video commemorating Azerbaijan’s Victory Day on November 8, marking the fifth anniversary of the historic triumph.
The video recounts the 44-day Patriotic War, portraying each day as a heroic chapter leading to a historic and glorious victory, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
“This glorious victory is one of the brightest pages of our history, a great achievement made possible through the will and determination of our people. It lives in the heart of every Azerbaijani and will endure forever as a symbol of our strength and pride. We triumphed together, we are strong together. We wrote this glorious history together. Happy Victory Day on November 8!” the video states.
Footage from the Baku Media Centre accompanies the video, showing celebrations of the nation’s achievement with pride and enthusiasm.
On December 3, 2020, President Ilham Aliyev signed an order establishing November 8 as Victory Day in Azerbaijan.
Victory Day commemorates the liberation of Shusha from Armenian occupation on November 8, 2020, a key moment in Azerbaijan’s 44-day war that concluded with a tripartite ceasefire on November 10.
President Aliyev described Shusha’s liberation after 28 years of occupation as the pinnacle of Azerbaijan’s victory.
