Russia, Azerbaijan discuss COP29 preparations

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk has discussed with Azerbaijani Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev preparations for the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) to be held in Baku.

"The talks considered topical issues of environmental cooperation between the two countries and preparation of participation of the Russian delegation in the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, which is scheduled to be held in the Republic of Azerbaijan in November 2024," Caliber.Az reports, citing the Russian government website.

It is noted that the meeting was attended by the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation on Climate Issues Ruslan Edelgeriev, head of Roshydromet Igor Shumakov, representatives of federal ministries of the two countries.
