Russia has no plans to block YouTube

Russian Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media, Maksut Shadayev, said that YouTube video hosting, owned by Google, would not be closed in the country.

Shadayev is convinced that users should not suffer from the decision about the service’s closure, Kommersant quotes him as saying.

“We are not planning to shut down YouTube, that's what I can say. First, indeed, when we limit something, we must clearly understand that our users do not suffer,” Shadayev said on May 17, 2022.
