President Erdoğan welcomed the recently announced ceasefire between Israel and Iran, attributing the breakthrough to President Trump’s diplomatic efforts. He underscored the critical importance of sustained dialogue to bring an end to what he described as the "humanitarian catastrophe" in the Gaza Strip, and to pave the way for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
Turning to bilateral matters, the Turkish leader emphasised that Ankara and Washington enjoy substantial potential for expanded cooperation in strategic sectors, particularly energy and investment. He also pointed to defence industry collaboration as a key area for growth, suggesting that strengthening ties in this field could help the two nations reach their shared target of increasing bilateral trade to $100 billion.
