Russia imposes temporary flight restrictions at Yaroslavl Airport
Restrictions on aircraft arrivals and departures have been imposed at Yaroslavl Airport, a representative of Russia's Federal Agency for Air Transport (Rosaviatsiya), Artem Korenyako, has announced.
“Yaroslavl Airport (Tunoshna). Temporary restrictions on the landing and takeoff of aircraft have been introduced,” he wrote on his Telegram channel on November 5.
The decision follows similar suspensions in Ufa, Kazan, and Nizhnekamsk, with earlier restrictions reported in Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, and Tambov. Russian media link these disruptions to heightened security risks amid continued drone attacks targeting various regions.
Over the past days, Russia’s Defence Ministry reported that air defence systems had intercepted and destroyed 85 Ukrainian drones across multiple regions, including Voronezh, Nizhny Novgorod, Belgorod, and Kursk. In the Volgograd Region, a drone strike reportedly caused a fire at an electrical substation, while several unmanned aerial vehicles were downed over Bashkortostan and Saratov.
