Russia reportedly develops new kamikaze drone

The Experimental Design Bureau (EDB) of Russia’s company “Bespilotnoe Aviastroenie” has said that it has developed an aircraft-type kamikaze drone Vector-120.

"Design work and pilot production of individual assemblies of the Vector-120 bomber munition are currently underway," TASS quotes the design bureau as saying in a statement.

EDB said it plans to reach the stage of flight tests as early as 2024, adding that the device will be launched from a disposable launch tube, which will be in the fighter's ammunition and will be able to carry a warhead weighing up to 250 grams.

According to the designer, similar schemes are used in the US Switchblade tactical-borne ammunition, but the Vector 120 will be able to launch from any position.
