Russia responds to Azerbaijani diaspora’s appeal due to Armenia’s provocations
The Azerbaijani State Committee on Work with Diaspora has said that the Russian Foreign Ministry responded to the appeals of the Azerbaijani community living in the Samara and Ivanovo regions in connection with Armenia’s latest military provocations on the Azerbaijani state border.
The appeals of our compatriots addressed to Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov were considered in response letters addressed on behalf of the Director of the Fourth Department of the CIS countries of the Russian Foreign Ministry Denis Gonchar to Executive Director of the "League of Azerbaijanis of the Samara Region" public organisation Mushfig Damirov and Chairman of the "National-cultural autonomy of the Azerbaijanis of the Ivanovo region" regional public organisation Asif Mammadov, Azerbaijani State Committee on Work with Diaspora told Report.
“The Russian Federation is taking consistent steps to maintain peace and security in the South Caucasus and normalise the Azerbaijan-Armenia relations. The Russian peacekeeping contingent ensures the ceasefire and stability in its zone of responsibility. Assistance is being rendered to restore the routes in the region and demilitarise borders. This activity is based on the statements of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia dated November 9, 2020, January 11 and November 26, 2021. Strict observance of these agreements by all sides is the only possible path to lasting peace,” the letter says.
