Russia’s Kabardino-Balkaria eyes to strengthen cooperation with Azerbaijan
Russia’s Kabardino-Balkarian Republic and Azerbaijan will cooperate in trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural sectors.
Chairman of Kabardino-Balkaria’s Government Aliy Musukov discussed cooperation issues with Azerbaijani ambassador to the Russian Federation Polad Bulbuloglu on the sidelines of the 12th Russia-Azerbaijan interregional forum, TASS reports citing Kabardino-Balkaria’s Ministry of Economic Development.
“Musukov spoke to Polad Bulbuloglu during the forum and discussed the issues of developing mutually beneficial cooperation and strengthening trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural ties between Azerbaijan and the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic,” the message said.
According to the message, Azerbaijan is one of the priority trade and economic partners of Kabardino-Balkaria. As of 2023, the volume of exports from the Republic of Azerbaijan increased by 5.5 per cent compared to 2022. Sugar and sugar confectionery, paper and cardboard, cocoa and cocoa products, and cereals were mainly exported. Kabardino-Balkaria’s representatives regularly visit Azerbaijan as part of business missions and exhibitions thanks to the Regional Export Support Centre.
The 12th Russia-Azerbaijan interregional forum is being held in Russia’s Mineralnye Vody town. The Azerbaijani and Russian sides are discussing promising transport and logistics projects, opportunities for promoting environmental dialogue on the eve of the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP-29) in Baku, as well as new vectors of cooperation in industrial sectors during the meetings led by Russian and Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Ministers Alexei Overchuk and Shahin Mustafayev.
