Russia says US has not renounced agreements reached at Alaska summit
Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov stated that the agreements made between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump during their meeting in Anchorage, Alaska, remain in effect.
According to Ushakov, neither the United States nor Russia has officially renounced these understandings, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
He emphasised that the Kremlin continues to operate on the premise that any future discussions regarding the Ukrainian crisis will proceed according to the framework established in those earlier talks.
The 2025 Russia–United States Summit in Anchorage, held at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, marked the first in-person meeting between Trump and Putin since 2019, focusing primarily on ending Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine that began in February 2022.
Trump, who campaigned on swiftly resolving the conflict, initiated talks via a surprise February 12, 2025, phone call with Putin, followed by Rubio's meeting with Lavrov in Saudi Arabia later that month.
