Russia sends grain train to Armenia via Azerbaijan updated

A freight train carrying Russian grain departed today from Balajari railway station in Baku, transporting the cargo to Armenia via Georgia.

According to domestic media, the train consists of 11 wagons loaded with grain originating from Russia.

The shipment is part of ongoing transit deliveries passing through Azerbaijan on the route between Russia and Armenia.

The report states that to date more than 22,000 tons of grain — transported in 320 wagons — have been sent from Russia to Armenia via Azerbaijan. In addition, 610 tons of fertilisers, carried in nine wagons, have also been delivered along the same route.

A freight train carrying Russian grain to Armenia is departing today from Bilajari railway station in Azerbaijan, according to information reported by local media.

The train consists of 11 wagons transporting a total of 1,023 tons of grain.

The cargo will travel across Azerbaijan to the Boyuk Kesik railway station, where it will cross into Georgia before continuing its route toward Armenia.

The latest shipment follows a similar delivery earlier this week. On March 9, a freight train made up of seven wagons transported 488 tons of Russian grain to Armenia via Azerbaijan.
