Russia warns of Western attempts to trigger global conflict with Eurasia as epicentre
Sergey Naryshkin, the director of Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), has issued a stark warning regarding the West’s potential actions to preserve its global dominance.
Naryshkin stated that the West might resort to extreme measures, including attempting to provoke a global armed conflict with Eurasia at its centre, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
"I believe that quite," Naryshkin said, responding to a question about the West’s willingness to take drastic steps.
He explained that one of the potential scenarios for the near future is a deliberate effort by Western powers to ignite a global confrontation, with Eurasia as the focal point of the conflict.
Naryshkin's statement comes amid ongoing tensions between Russia and the West, with the situation in Ukraine remaining volatile.
He also highlighted the current state of the conflict in Ukraine, emphasizing that Russia is making significant progress in its "special military operation," while the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) are nearing collapse.
“The situation on the front is not in Kyiv's favour,” Naryshkin declared. “The strategic initiative in all areas belongs to us, and we are close to achieving our goals, while the AFU is on the verge of collapse.”
This assessment reflects Russia's continued military advancement in Ukraine, despite international condemnation and escalating sanctions against Moscow.
