Kyrgyzstan, Russia move to accelerate military equipment supplies
Kyrgyzstan’s parliament, the Jogorku Kenesh, has received a draft law proposing the ratification of a protocol amending the existing agreement with Russia on military-technical cooperation.
The protocol was signed on November 26, 2025, in Bishkek and has now been submitted for parliamentary approval, according to 24KG.
Materials from the Cabinet of Ministers indicate that the initiative is designed to simplify and accelerate cooperation between the two countries. The proposed changes include reducing the time required to prepare contracts for the supply of military equipment and streamlining approval procedures.
Under the protocol, authorised organisations would be permitted to conclude contracts without lengthy bureaucratic processes, even before final supply lists are formally approved.
This mechanism is expected to expedite the delivery of spare parts, equipment, and military hardware, as well as facilitate repairs, modernisation, and maintenance services.
The document also broadens cooperation in areas such as specialist training, the transfer of technical documentation, and the provision of comprehensive servicing for military equipment.
The Cabinet of Ministers stressed that the implementation of the agreement will be carried out within existing budget allocations and will not require additional expenditures.
Following ratification by the Jogorku Kenesh, the protocol will come into force after all domestic procedures are completed and official notifications are exchanged between Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
The directive to submit the draft law was signed by Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev.
