A Rostov-on-Don endocrinologist and her husband were brutally killed in Armenia — the couple was shot with a hunting rifle during a robbery.
According to SHOT, 44-year-old Marina Ayrapetyan and her 46-year-old husband went on vacation to Armenia. While driving in their Audi near a field close to the village of Zovashen in the Kotayk region, they stopped to rest at a gazebo.
At some point, a man approached them and demanded the car keys, which the couple refused to hand over. He then pulled out a hunting rifle and shot them. The attacker left their bodies in the gazebo and drove away.
Relatives learned of Marina and her husband’s disappearance a day later and contacted local police. The 61-year-old suspect (pictured) was later arrested; eyewitnesses reported finding him in the same Audi, in possession of a weapon. Prior to killing the couple, he had shot another pair of villagers from Aramus. The bodies of the deceased Russian woman and her husband were returned to Rostov-on-Don.
Marina Ayrapetyan, a Russian citizen, worked as an endocrinologist and ultrasound specialist at the “DaVinci” clinic in Rostov-on-Don, with 21 years of experience. In 2022, she ranked third among endocrinologists in the Rostov region. She and her husband are survived by their 15-year-old daughter.
