Russian Export Centre representative office opens in Yerevan

15 December 2023 10:38

The Russian Export Centre (REC) has opened a representative office in Yerevan within the framework of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Russia and Armenia.

It has become the 13th in foreign countries, TASS reports citing the press service of the centre.

"On December 15, the opening ceremony of the representative office of the Russian Export Centre in Armenia was held in Yerevan. The ceremony was held within the framework of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Russia and Armenia," the press release reads.

It is noted that the centre will provide Russian exporters with a wide range of services, including searching for potential buyers in Armenia, organising negotiations, checking the reliability of Armenian counterparties, as well as financial support in the implementation of business projects.

"The development of Russian-Armenian trade and economic relations has always been of special importance for us both from the point of view of developing traditional spheres of interaction and building up new areas of partnership," Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Dmitry Volvach pointed out during the opening ceremony. He called the representation of the Russian Export Centre in Armenia "a new stage in the development of relations between the countries". In his opinion, the centre's task is to help maintain a continuous dialogue between the business communities of Russia and Armenia.

Veronika Nikishina, Director General of the Russian Export Centre, believes that the current situation in the world contributes to the development of relations between Moscow and Yerevan, and the REC representative office in Armenia will help "establish effective interaction" with local business circles. Vigen Yenokyan, who heads the office, stressed that "Armenian partners will have a 'single window' where they can go to find Russian suppliers and raise financing to close a deal".

The Russian Export Centre has 12 other foreign representative offices besides Armenia. REC representatives successfully work in India, Vietnam, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, China and other countries.
