Russian FM, Kazakh president hold talks ahead of Putin’s upcoming visit
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, during his official visit to Kazakhstan, held extensive discussions with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
Lavrov confirmed the meeting, explaining that it was part of a broader agenda, which also included detailed negotiations with Kazakhstan's Foreign Minister, Murat Nurtleu, Caliber.Az reports citing Russian media.
At a press conference, Lavrov revealed that the talks mainly centred on preparations for Russian President Vladimir Putin’s upcoming state visit to Astana, scheduled for November 27, just before the CSTO summit of member states.
The Russian Foreign Minister emphasized that several key documents were nearing completion, including numerous agreements and joint statements, which will be signed by the leaders of both countries. These agreements, covering a wide range of sectors, are aimed at further strengthening the strategic partnership and alliance between Russia and Kazakhstan.
