Russian FM welcomes new Azerbaijani ambassador Highlights strengthening bilateral ties
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov extended his best wishes to Rahman Mustafayev, the newly appointed Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia on October 4.
A statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry highlighted the meeting, emphasizing the significance of the diplomatic relations between the two nations, Caliber.Az reports.
Lavrov warmly welcomed Mustafayev, recognizing Azerbaijan as a "friendly state, strategic partner, and ally." He expressed confidence in the ambassador’s ability to further enhance the collaboration between Russia and Azerbaijan.
Following the reception, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin also met with Ambassador Mustafayev, who presented copies of his credentials.
The discussion focused on the progressive development of Russian-Azerbaijani relations and addressed several key issues on the bilateral agenda, including plans for upcoming interstate engagements.
